2007 was a whirlwind year for the Sebasticook Valley Weekly.  From our inception in late April, our growth rate has been, and remains, phenomenal.  Our circulation has climbed steadily, and our advertisers report strong responses to their ads in our paper.  Thank-you for your ongoing support of both our paper and our advertisers.
Late last fall, we began to look at what steps we could take to maintain our growth rate.  We identified several things that we thought would improve our paper and our accessibility.  One result of that analysis was the addition of the Skowhegan and Madison areas to our coverage.  I would like to thank the folks of the Skowhegan and Madison areas – our welcome has been nothing short of remarkable.
After listening to our co-workers try and answer the phone “Thanks for calling The Sebasticook Valley Weekly” literally dozens of time per day,(really try saying Sebasticook Valley Weekly three times FAST!) we have decided to change our name to the SVWeekly.  Additionally, to further promote our online presence, we will be adding “.com” to our name as well.  This change will take place with our next edition, Feb.7
We also identified one more thing we could do that would make our paper even more accessible to our readers.   Beginning with the next issue of our paper, our cover price will be FREE.  We will be available at the same retail locations where you have been able to purchase us, but now there will be no charge.
We are able to offer free distribution through the generous support of our advertisers.  Please patronize the businesses and individuals who make this newspaper available through their advertising dollars spent with us.  And if possible, let them know that you appreciate their support of our community's newspaper.
From all of us involved with the production of the SVWeekly, thank-you for your ongoing support and patronage. We appreciate the confidence in us you display by allowing us in your home every week.
